To ensure a sustainable future, it is critical to consider all the ways in which our energy choices impact human health. We must think comprehensively about meeting energy needs while also safeguarding against extreme weather events; food and water scarcity; infectious diseases; and conditions that create displaced populations, economic instability, and political discord.
To this end, the Center is working to create a future in which:
- Health outcomes are central to all policy and business decisions related to energy in the U.S. and across the globe.
- There is a widespread acceptance that climate change is something we must address for the sake of people’s health.
- Renewable energy sources become more prevalent, and energy drawn from non-renewable sources is utilized more efficiently.
