Inspired by the problem of indoor air pollution from household stoves faced by rural families in China, Dr. Catlin Powers has dedicated her career to bringing innovative clean energy solutions to people around the world.

Dr. Powers received her master’s and doctoral degrees in environmental health from Harvard University TH Chan School of Public Health following a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Wellesley College. Dr. Powers’ research has resulted in two solar energy patents and won twelve international innovation awards including the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Sustainable Design Award and the St. Andrews Prize for the Environment.

Dr. Powers teaches Sustainable Business & Technology at Harvard University.

Dr. Powers is also the co-founder & CEO of One Earth Designs, an innovative solar appliance company and one of the founding B Corps. In addition, Dr. Powers serves on the US Technical Advisory Committee to the International Standards Organization.
