Policymaker Education

The Center regularly held educational sessions for congressional staff on emerging health and environmental issues by holding briefings in the House and Senate that are co-sponsored by Members from both parties and that regularly draw standing room only attendance.

Working closely with our DC-based coordinator, the Center regularly met with offices to determine what environmental and health topics are most in need of clear, scientific explanations. Briefings have explored climate change, the loss of biodiversity, organic agriculture and energy solutions. These sessions have drawn attendance from both sides of the aisle, and Members and their staff have consistently and enthusiastically responded that these briefings have given them the knowledge they need to make informed decisions.
